Two talented women who offer inspiration to all of us
In this newspaper today we have the inspirational stories of two women who are not letting their disabilities define them. One is a teenager, Kate Grant, who has Down's syndrome and who is fulfilling her dream to take part in a beauty pageant and become a model. The other is acclaimed artist and entrepreneur Rachel McBride, who was born with cerebral palsy.
They have had to overcome the sometimes negative image that people, unthinkingly, have of them, but have shown that with their talents and unquenchable ambition their horizons need not be severely limited. They are impressive role models for anyone, disabled or not, struggling to overcome adversity.
