Valuable work of horse sanctuary deserves our support

Editor's Viewpoint

Crosskennan Lane animal sanctuary, set up to save abandoned horses, is a victim of its own success. It has so many of the animals, several of them in foal, that its dwindling resources cannot cope and it will have to start putting some of them to sleep.

The horse is one of nature's most noble animals and it would take a hard heart not to be moved by the fate of those at the Co Antrim sanctuary. Surely in a rural community like Northern Ireland there must be some people who have a patch of land suitable for keeping a horse, at least on a temporary basis.

Even if you cannot take a horse, give a donation. It could help save an animal's life.
