Void left by departing BBC quartet will be tough to fill
BBC Radio Ulster broadcasters Noel Thompson, Karen Patterson, Seamus McKee and Wendy Austin, who are stepping down from their jobs next year, are not simply long-serving and talented journalists and presenters - they have also won a place in their listeners' hearts.
They have been bringing us news in the best and worst of times and, in the finest traditions of journalism, have used their position to address questions that people want answered.
They have won the respect of their peers and the public. While change in any organisation is inevitable, the void left by their departures will be difficult to fill.
