(W)alls well that ends well after cat's dramatic rescue

How often we hear tales of our pets bringing out the best in people. Take our story today of the Carrick man puzzled at hearing meowing sounds from the cavity wall of his partly built home. He literally left no stone unturned to get to the truth, boring a hole in the wall to rescue a stricken cat and then returning it to its worried owner.

As if to emphasise the affinity between man and feline, it was revealed that the cat's owner had previously rescued it from an animal sanctuary.

It may have ticked off one of its nine lives, but thanks to the caring nature of these two men, this cat's tale has had a happy ending.
