We must not forget horror of lost lives in the Troubles
Lost Lives is a sobering memorial to the deaths of more than 3,700 people in the Troubles. Each death is documented carefully and uniquely and even then the one million words of the book are not enough to give the full story of each death, most notably the impact on the bereaved.
Now 18 of those deaths are being put on the screen with voice-overs from our top acting talent. It is a way of bringing the printed accounts to a form of life, showing us the context and times of those deaths. This is not a trivialisation of some people's trauma but a warning for this society never to return to the decades of death when life was cheap. We must never forget the horror of lost lives.
