A human life begins with the conception

In Finola Meredith's column (Feb 21) she takes the pro-abortion stance which glosses over scientific reality that at conception a totally unique human being has started natural life.

At conception we are genetically complete and unique. Our genes determine our gender, intelligence, size, height etc. Conception is the beginning of life.

The Pro-Life movement affirms this reality and the equal human rights of mother and child.

Her column talks about a woman being fully and correctly informed of the facts before contemplating abortion but avoids the fundamental reality that at conception all of our lives begin and that in the womb a mother is carrying from conception a unique human life distinct and separate from her own.
