Abortion case is up to women
Admiral James Stockdale, Ross Perot's running mate, during the vice-president's debate from the 1992 US election when asked about abortion, said: "I believe that a woman owns her body and what she does with it is her own business, period."
That statement is not pro-abortion but pro women's rights, which I believe is the issue raised by the death of Savita Halappanavar.
Whether you believe in abortion or not, it should be left to the individual who is pregnant to make the decision.
I believe that politicians, mostly men, should stay out of the decision making of who has control of a women's body. Let the women affected decide what to do, with the help of doctors, family and friends that they trust.
