Actions of West stoked Syria war
Just like the refugee crisis presently engulfing Europe cannot be talked about without mentioning the Syrian war, the Syrian war should not be mentioned without reference to the Qatar-Turkey pipeline first proposed in 2000.
In 2009 President Assad announced he would refuse to sign the agreement to allow the pipeline to run through Syria and, instead, endorsed a Russian-approved alternative starting in Iran, running through Iraq, Syria and into Lebanon.
The CIA then began funding opposition groups in Syria and later funnelled weapons into Syria to rebel fighters.
When the West starts talking about starting yet another war over human rights violations, we should not end the discussion without mentioning that probably the worst violators of human rights are actually the West's best friends.
