Actions speak louder than words, Nigel
North Belfast MP Nigel Dodds is on record as saying: "The ongoing needs of victims injured during the Troubles was highlighted starkly only last week and this reinforces the benefits which compensation could bring to ease the suffering which many people are still bearing on a daily basis.
"Whilst the death of [Abdelbaset] al-Megrahi marks the end of a particular chapter in Libya's relationship with terrorism, the victims created in Northern Ireland by Libyan weaponry still deserve to be properly recognised."
These sentiments are in stark contrast to those of his party leader, who last month rubber-stamped the reduction in services provided by the Northern Ireland Memorial Fund.
Will Mr Dodds now lobby the Office of the First Minister and deputy First Minister to reinstate the vital support and assistance provided by the Northern Ireland Memorial Fund up until 2012, but subsequently removed without consultation?
The reality for those affected is that actions speak louder than words.
