Alliance Party is leading progress, not sitting on fence
I take issue with Trevor Ringland's comments (The Big Interview, January 26) that the Alliance Party should "come off the fence". This reference to "the fence" really is old hat and lazy thinking.
Surely Alliance has demonstrated over the years that we take brave decisions, which cause much furore at the time, but are seen to be courageous, progressive and acceptable to most people a few years after Alliance has given the lead and taken the (considerable) flak.
Alliance quietly pushes for real progress through actions, not spurious words, scaremongering or creating false dawns.
We don't hear much about Alliance taking on vested interests, be it through the Department of Justice or DEL.
Every day at least one small step is being taken.
