An unsporting victory from Kevin Myers
Why, in what should be his hour of celebration, does Kevin Myers turn so bitterly on the beaten England rugby team (March 5)?
The England team may have lacked the incisiveness (and a bit of the luck) of the Irish, but why does Kevin kick a beaten opponent that competed bravely, albeit with limited skills?
Can he not enjoy the thrill of victory enough without trying to extend the outcome of a sports game into an insult to an entire nation?
Surely the point of sport is to build mutual respect through honest and fair endeavour.
Unsportsmanlike conduct, Kevin.
