THE last two weeks have forced a few questions to be asked about the moral direction of society.
First, we had the creators of Grand Theft Auto V defending their game over its violence.
Then, last week, we see a cat being shot in the first episode of Love/Hate.
The writers of Love/Hate appeared to wonder how people could see victims of violence in every episode, yet rise up in anger against the death of a single cat.
I think the answer is clear. We are losing empathy for each other.
Perhaps art should help to mend society – not add to its ills.
