Boycott events in North Korea
ON the same day as the London Marathon, Sunday, April 13, another race took place in an entirely different city, Pyongyang.
The race was open to foreign entrants for the first time. Reports suggest that 200 people registered. How could they take part in an event knowing that it was organised by a regime that has been condemned by the UN for committing crimes against humanity resembling those committed by the Nazis?
A boycott of North Korean events would send a clear message that gulags are incompatible with sport.
