Brave acts of service will not be forgotten

I WOULD like to express my outright condemnation of the recent murder of prison officer David Black. This barbaric act of cruelty has left a family devastated by the loss of a father and husband.

Unfortunately, this act has reminded us all that there are still people out there intent on causing murder and mayhem.

While we should focus on moving Northern Ireland forward, we cannot forget these innocent victims of terrorism and we must support their families.

As we approach Remembrance Sunday we must remember the recent casualties who have died in service, namely Corporal Channing Day and prison officer David Black. We salute their courage and it is imperative that their legacy is not forgotten.
