Clean up politics — let’s have one person per family per job

OH, how my heart bleeds for our poor, poverty-stricken politicians.

It appears that they have to have at least two jobs in order to make ends meet, particularly our nine DUP Members of Parliament.

Just think of it.

Poor Peter Robinson has to work 16 hours a day in order to get enough to live on and put a little back for when he retires.

I suppose the same can be said of Nigel Dodds, Jeffrey Donaldson, Gregory Campbell, Sammy Wilson, William McCrea, Iris Robinson, David Simpson and the Rev Ian.

It’s a shame that Peter had to put his wife to work to help out and Nigel had to tell his wife it was time she should look for a job.

Some of our public representatives have even had to take on a third job as councillors in order to live.

I know I’ve singled out the DUP, but that is because I am more familiar with them.

Other parties are almost as bad. To the ordinary man in the street it looks as though it is greed that drives them. Sheer, unadulterated greed.

Wake up, Northern Ireland. Let’s clean up our politics. One person per family per job.

Then they will have no excuse to be absent when the House is in session.

As for their lives being in danger, no one forced them to take the job.
