Colmcille could inspire new flag

I refer to the article by Johnny Andrews from the NI Conservatives, in which he criticised David Ford on a number of issues.

I noticed in the article that Mr Andrews suggested the cross/flag of St Patrick should become the official flag of Northern Ireland.

While this is a good idea, it must be remembered that St Patrick is the patron saint of all Ireland - not just Northern Ireland. Would the people of the Republic be okay with this?

Perhaps the best option would be for Northern Ireland to have its own patron saint. I think St Colmcille could fulfil this role, with his Celtic Cross being incorporated into a new official flag.
