Compensation is due for victims

THE evidence produced at the Historical Abuse Inquiry runs a close parallel to the concentration camps in Nazi Germany.

The treatment of these unfortunate children was sadistic, and criminality in its worst form. An immediate and interim payment of something like £250,000 should be paid to the survivors of the Nazareth homes and the girls used as slaves in the notorious laundries run by sadists.

The money will never bring back their formative years, but it will bring some comfort to them in their ageing years.
