Conflict centre is a missed opportunity
Both Sinn Fein and the DUP are missing a great opportunity about the Conflict Resolution Centre.
There is a great scarcity of tourist attractions in west Belfast.
The best site for the centre is on the peace line with equal entrances from both the Falls and Shankill Roads.
It will create jobs. There will be opportunities for tourist-minded businesses. There are experts in the Civil Service in designing ‘safe and secure shared space'.
A plaza in front of the centre would draw more tourists than the Maze and provide a venue for community events and entertainment. The residents of these areas and their MLAs should be speaking out.
