Consider abortion before casting vote

Alban Maginness' article (Comment, February 8) was a timely reminder of what's at stake at this election.

Abortion is an issue that the next Assembly are going to have to face. Elected MLAs will have the responsibility to decide whether or not to uphold the current laws on abortion.

Therefore, Care For Northern Ireland urges voters to ask prospective candidates their stance on abortion, as they weigh up how to cast their vote.

Our current laws on abortion have created a life-affirming culture in Northern Ireland and have fostered a society which values the life of both the mother and the unborn child.

Research from Both Lives Matter has shown that 100,000 people are alive in Northern Ireland today, because of our laws on abortion.

Care For Northern Ireland hopes that the Assembly which is elected will affirm that both lives matter.
