Consumer Council can help with travel issues

I was interested to read your article on Thursday April 6, 'How you could pay £424 just to fly your luggage to Canaries', and thought your readers would benefit from knowing about the travel resources the Consumer Council has produced.

The Consumer Council's Airlines Additional Charges Table outlines the additional charges applied to flights operating from Northern Ireland. This includes the additional charges for a range of extra services, including checked baggage, credit card use and seat reservations.

If any of your readers would like advice on additional airline charges or their passenger rights, they can contact the Consumer Council by calling 0800 121 6022, by emailing, or by visiting our offices at Floor 3, Seatem House, 28-32 Alfred Street, Belfast.
