Council cannot afford Irish signs

Where does Janet Muller (Write Back, August 24) think Armagh District Council is going to get the money to change signs into Irish in this time of recession? The council will be fighting to find the money to keep their staff.

Does she not realise that, according to the census, Irish (or Ulster Scots) is not the second or third most-spoken language in Northern Ireland after English.
