Cuts must start with you first, Mr Robinson
Before the Executive ministers start wielding the knife to pay for the profligacy of the last Labour Government, perhaps they could start a little closer to home.
In the Dail, TDs had their salaries cut by 8% and some took a voluntary 5% cut on top of that.
To bring the Assembly into line with other devolved administrations in the United Kingdom, there should be no more than 50 members in the Northern Ireland Assembly.
Finally, we were promised a cut in the number of ministries in the Executive, which has so far failed to deliver on any of these fronts.
Mr Robinson has no room to condemn the present Government cuts when the Executive he leads has done nothing to reduce the cost of government here.
