What a stupid mistake to withdraw the Northern Bank name (News, May 11).
If it was changed to another well-known UK bank name, then I'd say fair enough. But to re-name it with a foreign name is just plain daft.
So what's in a name? Well, from buying a loaf of bread to buying a car, we all go for a name that we know and are familiar with.
This just smacks of more European bureaucracy telling us in Northern Ireland what to do.
Well, as a customer of the Northern Bank for more than 40 years, it is time to say goodbye. I'm off to the Ulster.
Changing banks today is easy. Hopefully, others with a like mind will follow suit.
