Daylight saving needs a rethink

British Summer Time reverted to GMT yesterday, ending another period of 'daylight saving'. The period after the summer solstice is six weeks longer than the period before, so the Government should remedy this inequality by introducing it earlier next year.

It could put the additional saving to clearing the deficit.
