Don't believe tax-relief hype

The proposal by the Government to limit the tax-relief on charity donations, which is supposed to allow the decision on its use to be made by an elected government rather than by the individual donor's whim, sounds laudable.

But, don't be deceived: the extra tax will be used to reduce the deficit to get their banker friends off the hook and provide funds for vote-winning tax cuts. Public services will continue to be cut, as this is Government ideology.
