Don't vote for failed parties of Executive

The forthcoming general election is certainly not particularly vibrant. Not a single canvasser or politician has bothered to reach my doorstep. This morning the postman delivered two election flyers - one DUP, the other Alliance. It seems that any election here is always consistently boring.

It rather resembles the Battle of Waterloo. To parody the Duke of Wellington's remark, the candidates bore us with their endless soundbites and false promises in the same old way and the electorate votes habitually, tribally in the same old way.

Perhaps one day they will realise that their puny votes count for little; the big league is over in Britain.

The only thing the electorate here could do is to show a vote of no confidence in the parties comprising the Executive.
