Drivers should respect cyclists on our roads

Martin Boyd is right that inattentive and careless driving is the main cause of road accidents (Write Back, November 29).

As a cyclist on Belfast's roads, it often feels like half of drivers don't see me. I wear high-visibility clothing, but I have been knocked off my bicycle four times in the last year by drivers who entered the cycle lane without looking. While we wait for Stormont to improve safety for cyclists, all we can do is appeal to motorists to be cycle-aware.
