As an Ulsterman, I feel ashamed that my fellow countrymen should have put a price on their loyalty.
The DUP grew from the Conservative and Unionist Party and vociferously proclaims its loyalty to the UK and the Crown.
By putting a price on it, that loyalty becomes a sham. It is also an affront, in that Northern Ireland already receives more per head from the Exchequer than any region.
While people in Northern Ireland travel on silky-smooth roads, we bump along over potholes and, unlike them, we pay for our prescriptions. They don't seem very grateful.
