The derision directed at Tom Elliott for calling the Sinn Fein 'rent a mob' at the Omagh count is unfair.
The Ulster Unionist leader simply stated what most of us in the unionist community think.
For a party which claims to be seeking to actively engage with unionists (as opposed to their previous strategy of shooting them in the back - but, alas, we mustn't mention the war) I'm not sure how hectoring and jeering Mr Elliott fits in with the Sinn Fein's respect agenda.
For that reason, if no other, the Provo corner boys in Omagh on Saturday are indeed "scum".
