Football match a great way to build bridges

WE were delighted to hear the Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, suggest a charity all-Ireland international football match, backed by our first and deputy first ministers (News, November 9).

We were even more pleased to note that they suggested that this event should be used to raise funds for (and promote) the two new children's hospitals soon to be built in Belfast and Dublin.

It would be only fitting that the children of today are placed foremost in our minds, as we seek to build further bridges between north and south in health and sport.
