Get your skates on for charity

I am writing to urge people in Northern Ireland to take part in the Great South Run to raise money for World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF).

The 10-mile run in Portsmouth is a fantastic event and this year it will be held on October 24.

As well as being a tough challenge, it is also a lot of fun, with a fantastic atmosphere.

If people take part in support of WCRF, all the money raised will help us continue funding scientific research and raising awareness that about one third of the most common cancers can be prevented through diet, physical activity and weight.

Every charity runner will get a running vest, a training plan and nutritional advice, as well as a fundraising pack. Call (020) 7343 4205 or email: running@wcrf.org by September 10 to enter.
