Giving up train seats was noble

I wish to thank those young people - both men and women and also some not-so-young - who gave up their seats on the 7pm Enterprise departure from Dublin on Friday evening in order to assist a group of senior citizens who were travelling from Limerick to Lisburn and Belfast.

The train from Limerick had been delayed and we only just got the Belfast train before it departed. Many of those who gave up their seats were clearly returning north after a week in Dublin.

This was a most noble gesture which restores one's faith in human nature and kindness.
