Golf course jobs promise is costly
I understand that a new golf course is being planned near Bushmills, which is costing in the region of £100m.
It is really quite extraordinary that in these financially straitened times, such a vast sum can be spent in this way.
The new club is supposed to create a few hundred local jobs.
However, the ongoing and delayed John Lewis development at Sprucefield - if it ever gets approval - would create 2000 jobs for a much lower capital outlay.
Does anyone in the Northern Ireland Planning Service or the Assembly possess a thinking cap? I think we should be told.
