Great time had at folk festival

I had a great time at the recent Ulster Scots folk festival when we were entertained to a very high standard of music for two days.

The organisers of the Cairncastle event, in particular Bobby Acheson, chairman, are to be congratulated for pushing this festival to new heights in its 10th year.

Apart from the festival musical evenings themselves, the history/musical bus tour via Ballycastle to Ballymoney was memorable.

I learned a lot with the visit of representatives from the Ulster Scots Ullans language.

As a Scot from Glasgow, I recognised some of the words spoken - but no similarity to our Parliamo Glasgow!

A well put-together festival and one that I would have no hesitation in visiting again and recommending to others.
