Heavy price for objectives of McGuinness

Martin McGuinness was very emphatic in apportioning blame to the Vatican for not exposing the cases of child sexual abuse by Father Brendan Smyth.

Is it also not true that a very direct approach to dealing with such criminal acts was not pursued because of the ethos created at the time for republicans not to engage with police, then the RUC?

Such political objectives have contributed to ruining the lives of countless nationalist families.

On a different issue, we are now informed that Sinn Fein orchestrated the weakening of the UUP, then led by David Trimble, by delaying the decommissioning of IRA weapons. I think that was to show the DUP had to share power.

The partnership of the ballot box and the Armalite was used to the very end.
