Parents nowadays are under more stress and scrutiny than ever before.
We are now getting letters home from schools lecturing us about the importance of feeding our children 'healthy foods'. They even go so far as to give us a list of instructions as to how to prepare a healthy lunch if your child is bringing a packed lunch to school instead of the healthy school meals – no biscuits,crisps or ham sandwiches etc. What's so wrong about a ham sandwich?
So, my children opted for the school dinner 'healthy option'.
"Well, what did you have for dinner in school today?" I asked them. "Oh, fish and chips, Mummy, followed by lovely cake and custard."
