Influx of bikers will be a danger to road users

It is with much alarm that I read that Biker Tourism is encouraging 'petrolheads' to visit our shores this year (Belfast Telegraph March 14).

As a resident of the Antrim coast I know that the A2 is not suited to high-speed machines, so much so, that last year the police drafted in extra patrols to combat this menace.

I'm sure this news will be filling residents, drivers and police with horror at the prospect.

Surely the authorities should be trying to curb such visits to help make our roads safer.
