ON Easter Tuesday, I went to Antrim Hospital emergency department, accompanied by my daughter. I had been having pain in my chest for three days.
It was worrisome, because three years ago I had a similar pain and I was diagnosed as having a clot in an artery to the lung and was put on a blood-thinner for a year.
On arrival, I was seen immediately by a triage nurse (Sarah). I was next seen by a male nurse (Lord). The consultant on call (Dr Shah) saw me immediately and ordered an electrocardiogram.
Three hours later, Dr Shah returned and discussed the results.
It was inspiring to see how individuals of various professional backgrounds worked together as a highly effective team.
