Gail Walker's faith in an afterlife is based on the fear of death and the desire to be immortal (Life, February 1).
Even if evidence exists that contradicts her faith, she says "I'd rather not know it." Ignorance is better?
This is a telling admission and typical of believers who value faith over knowledge or thinking critically.
Being afraid of death is no reason to believe in an afterlife. It's not evidence. And that's only common sense.
