Is our healthcare part of the NHS?

THE My View column by John Compton, chief executive of the Health and Social Care Board (DebateNI, March 28), had the headline, 'Your NHS is still a fine institution'.

Can he, or anyone else, tell me: is the NHS responsible for providing healthcare in Northern Ireland? Or, as healthcare is a devolved responsibility, am I correct in assuming the NHS is not responsible? A precise answer to this is important. When I look at the NHS website, it is unclear how much of the information applies to Northern Ireland.
