Israel will be damned if they do or don't

Damned if they do, dead if they don't. Not great options, but if I were an Israeli citizen I know which I would be going for.

In 'Palestine' there is only one people under continuous threat of extermination - and, thanks to western 'diplomacy', you can add the adjective 'nuclear'.

The Jewish 'problem' used to be one of a people without a land. Now it's because they are a people with a land.

In choosing between a free, Western liberal democracy and the theocratic terrorists that threaten it, the political class have gone with the soft latter option - fear masquerading as a moral cause.

I agree with Geert Wilders, the Dutch politician who said that "Thanks to Israeli parents who send their children to the army and lay awake at night, parents in Europe and America can sleep well and dream, unaware of the dangers looming."
