It's creationists who need proof
'new Creationist' (Write Back, July 30) says that Dr Sarah Harden, from Trinity College, Oxford (Write Back, July 23), did not produce any evidence to support her attempt to disprove a 'creator God'. However, she doesn't need to, as the onus is not on Dr Harden to disprove anything.
Creationists make the claim that a creator god exists, so the burden of proof falls wholly upon them.
Sadly, they are singularly unable to provide any objectively verifiable evidence to support their claim.
Dr Harden can scarcely be expected to disprove that for which the creationists can offer no proof.
