It's marriage in a throwaway age
FURTHER to Rachel Johnston's comments (Write Back, September 30), I think the main reason marriages do not last as long as in previous generations is that we do not repair anything.
This makes sense when, for example, I can buy a pair of shoes for less than the cost of having the old ones resoled but, unfortunately, we live in a throwaway generation.
