Literal approach to Bible's words

If the Bible is to be taken literally, as some Christians say it should, then the earth does not rotate or orbit the sun (Psalm 93.1). The sky is "strong and as a molten looking glass (Job 37.18) and insects are quadrupeds (Lev 11.23).

The earth is small and flat since Jesus was shown "all the kingdoms of the world" by the devil (Matt 4.8). Some say this refers only to the known world of the time, but then that's not taking the Bible literally.
