Mandela puts our leaders to shame
JIM Allister just doesn't get it, does he (Online, December 9)? Nelson Mandela fought against the evil of apartheid as a respected leader.
He went to prison for 27 years, developed his considerable intellect and charisma, then came out and used it for the common good. How rare is that?
No bitterness. He respected – and was respected by – all.
He left us all with a picture of what a leader should be. There are few "leaders" in Stormont who would be fit to lace his boots.
