First we have the closing of A&E departments in both Whiteabbey and the Mid-Ulster Hospitals with Antrim Area Hospital struggling to cope with the overflow.
Now we hear that in-patient waiting lists could rise to 26 weeks (back to the bad old times?); maternity care is suffering (Lagan Valley demoted to a midwife-led unit); and new mothers turfed out of the Royal Maternity Hospital after six hours; and a deterioration to other health services.
May I suggest to Mr McGimpsey, the Health Minister, and the overpaid chief executives of these health trusts: why don't you just close down all of the hospitals and be done with it? None of you are in any way concerned about the NHS or its users and would prefer to see it privatised.
