MLA calls for apology over gay pride posters

'but I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.' (Matthew 5:44)

Londonderry: if Christians really did abide by this verse, there would be less prejudice and hated towards gays, athiests, Muslims, immigrants, transsexuals or anyone else different from them. It would do wonders for Christian religions' image. Most Christians I've met are the most hypocritical, judgmental, intolerant idiots I know (with the exception of some good, decent people, of course).

So much for tolerance and respect; it goes out the window if you don't agree with them.

Justplainmad: where was the tolerance and respect from the protesters?

Golfie98: the protesters could have stayed well away if they did not agree with the parade instead of placing themselves in the centre-spot outside City Hall. Spouting Bible rubbish at the public is a form a verbal abuse and if they were in any way offended by what they saw then they put themselves up for it. I was there with my children and saw nothing which could have been deemed offensive - except for the soldiers of Christ displaying the awesome side of human bigotry.

Miss Culture

Jim Allister - a species in the process of extinction. You've got your back to the future, Allister. Ulster's very own King Canute.

I am fed up with Bible-thumpers delivering insults to friends of mine who happen to have been born gay. They also have the audacity to make calls to my home, telling me that I am going to hell if I disagree with their beliefs.

Dracula: I am in total agreement. I have never experienced gays calling at my house and trying to convert me. However, Christians do it regularly.
