Mo integrated into our society

Watching the TV drama on Mo Mowlam's life reminded me of the enormous contribution she made to life in Northern Ireland.

I had the pleasure of working with Mo when she dedicated much of her later years supporting the work of the Integrated Education Fund. Mo would give her time freely to visit integrated schools and attend fundraising even to show her support.

A few years ago a new facility at Oakwood Integrated Primary School was opened in Mo's honour. It is a multi-sensory room for children with special educational needs and was officially opened by Mo's late husband, Jon Norton.

Mo would have been so proud that integrated schools now educate 20,000 children and growing.
