In his letter (Write Back, November 28), Will Podmore writes, like many of the Brexit supporters, that politicians should "get on, get out".

This ignores the fact that the June referendum was already the second one.

In 1975, two-thirds of the electorate voted to stay in. The late Enoch Powell led the way in opposing membership long before Mr Farage.

So, it is the democratic way to allow people to have opposing views.

Tory Anna Soubry, Chuka Umunna of Labour and Nick Clegg from the Lib Dems are against leaving - perhaps they should be pushing for, if not leaving, then rejoining the EU to avoid the imminent car crash of a 'Hard Brexit'?
