Myers is right to take a stand on road deaths
We should be grateful to Kevin Myers for his courageous article on the recent spate of road deaths among young people (Comment, September 2).
I think he is alone in pointing to the unpleasant fact that, culturally, we have failed to challenge behaviours that contribute to such tragedies.
Our deepest sympathy must, of course, go to all those who are left grieving by such events and recriminations are entirely out of place. That said, it is appropriate that we comment sensitively and appropriately on anything that could be construed as suggesting that such behaviour is within acceptable social norms. Mr Myers has done this admirably.
